Australian Parent Visa Cost and Eligibility Requirements

The Contributory Parent visa (subclass 173 and 143) permits parents to remain in Australia provided their kid is an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or qualified New Zealand citizen.

The contributory parent 173 visa is a two-year temporary visa that permits the applicant to live in Australia. This visa cannot be extended or renewed; however, applicants who intend to remain permanently in Australia can apply for Contributory Parent (subclass 143) visas within two years after arriving in Australia on a 173 visa.

Both visa applicants must be sponsored by a child residing in Australia. If the kid is under the age of 18, applicants can be sponsored by:

  • The spouse of a child (who must be at least 18 years of age or more and a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen)
  • A child’s relative or guardian
  • A child’s spouse’s family or guardian if the spouse has not reached the age of 18 but is a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident, or qualified New Zealand citizen.
  • A non-profit organization

Eligibility Requirements for Parent Visas
